# TickFeed

> TickFeed is a real-time and historical market data API for 60 forex pairs and 11 metals (gold, silver, EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY and more), built for trading bots, backtests and AI agents. It is available over REST and as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Pricing is pay as you go from a prepaid balance: $0.002 per request unit, no subscription, and new accounts get $10 of free credit.

- Live bid/ask with millisecond timestamps; OHLC candles M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1. `GET /v1/symbols` (free) is the live list.
- Every price carries a freshness label: `fresh`, `market_closed` (scheduled closure) or `stale` (feed problem during trading hours), plus its age in seconds.
- Candles: the newest bar may be `complete: false` (still forming). Gaps are reported, never filled.
- All timestamps are UTC. Candle time is the bar open time.
- Pricing: price quote = 1 unit ($0.002); candles = 1 unit per 100 bars returned; gap report = 1 unit; symbols, usage and health are free. Only successful requests are charged. Balances in USD, GBP or EUR; top-ups from 5.
- Auth: API key in the `X-API-Key` header (MCP also accepts `Authorization: Bearer`). Keys are created in the dashboard after sign-up.
- Market data only: no investment advice, no trade execution.
