The API labels prices from closures as market_closed so a bot never mistakes them for live prices.

Is there a real-time gold price API?
Yes. TickFeed's /v1/price/XAUUSD returns the latest gold bid and ask in US dollars with a millisecond timestamp, the spread and a freshness label, so your code knows whether the price is live or from before a market closure.
How much does the gold price API cost?
Each price request costs $0.002 from a prepaid balance (1,000 requests = $2). Candles cost $0.002 per 100 bars. There is no monthly subscription; top-ups start at $5.
Can I get historical gold prices?
Yes. /v1/candles/XAUUSD returns OHLC candles at M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4 and D1, up to 5,000 bars per request, with pagination for longer ranges. Unfinished bars are flagged and gaps are never filled.
What does XAUUSD mean?
XAUUSD is the standard symbol for the price of one troy ounce of gold in US dollars (XAU is the ISO code for gold).
When is the gold price updated?
Gold trades from Sunday 18:00 to Friday 17:00 New York time with a daily one-hour break at 17:00. Outside those hours the API returns the last price labelled market_closed.
