Terms of Service
Last updated 16 October 2026
The short version
- TickFeed provides market data. It is not investment advice and it never places trades.
- You pay in advance: add funds to your balance and each successful request is deducted at the published prices.
- Data can occasionally be late, missing or wrong. Every price carries a freshness label. Check it, and don’t rely on TickFeed alone for trading decisions.
- Use the data in your own software and applications. Don’t resell or redistribute it as a data feed.
- If you’re a consumer, you can cancel a top-up within 14 days and get back the part you haven’t used.
This summary is for convenience. The full terms below are what apply.
1. About us
TickFeed (“TickFeed”, “we”, “us”) is operated by the sole trader who owns TickFeed, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom, trading as TickFeed. Our postal address is available on request. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. These terms
These terms apply when you create an account, add funds or use the TickFeed website, API or MCP server (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that business. Some sections apply differently to consumers (individuals using the Service mainly outside their trade, business or profession). Where they do, we say so.
3. Your account and API keys
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate information, including a working email address.
- Keep your password and API keys secret. Anyone with one of your keys can make requests charged to your balance. You are responsible for use of your keys until you revoke them in your dashboard.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account or a key has been compromised.
- One account per person or business, unless we agree otherwise.
4. The service
- TickFeed provides read-only market data for the instruments listed on our website, through a REST API and an MCP server for AI applications.
- We work to keep the Service available and the data timely, and we publish live service health at /status. However, the Service is provided over the internet and depends on third parties, so we can’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. We may carry out maintenance, which can cause short interruptions.
- We may change, add or remove features, endpoints or instruments. If a change materially reduces what you can use, we will try to give you reasonable notice. If you’re unhappy with a change, you may close your account and ask for a refund of your unused balance (see section 10).
5. Market data: accuracy and no advice
- Not advice. TickFeed provides data only. Nothing in the Service is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. TickFeed does not place, route or execute trades.
- Accuracy. Market data comes from third-party sources and may sometimes be delayed, incomplete, revised or inaccurate. We label each price with its age and freshness and mark unfinished candles, so check those fields. You should not rely on the Service as your only source of information for trading or other decisions.
- Your decisions. You are responsible for how you, your software and any AI system you connect use the data, including any trading decisions and the outputs of AI tools.
6. Prices and your balance
- Prepaid. The Service is paid for in advance. You add funds to your account balance and each billable request is deducted from it at the prices shown on our pricing page and at /pricing (currently $0.002 per unit). Only successful requests are charged. If your balance can’t cover a request, it is declined; your balance never goes negative.
- Currency. You choose your account currency when you sign up and it can’t be changed later.
- Payments. Top-ups are processed by Stripe. We don’t receive or store your full card details. Tax (such as VAT or sales tax) is added where it applies and shown before you pay. You’ll receive an invoice for each top-up.
- What a balance is. Your balance is prepayment for the Service. It isn’t a bank deposit or e-money, it earns no interest, and it can’t be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash except as described in sections 7 and 10. It does not expire while your account is open.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email or in your dashboard before an increase takes effect. New prices apply only to requests made after that date, never to requests already made.
- Free credit. New accounts may receive promotional credit when they confirm their email. It is granted once per person or business, has no cash value, and cannot be refunded, transferred or exchanged for cash. It is excluded from the refunds in section 7. We may withdraw promotional credit obtained through multiple or fake accounts.
- Mistakes. If we charge you incorrectly because of a technical error, we will correct your balance. If you think a charge is wrong, contact us within 90 days.
7. Cancellation and refunds
- Consumers: 14-day right to cancel. If you are a consumer, you can cancel any top-up within 14 days of paying for it by emailing [email protected]. We will refund the part of that top-up you haven’t used, to your original payment method, within 14 days of your request. Because you can start using funds straight away, any amount you have already used is not refundable.
- Business customers. Top-ups are non-refundable except where these terms say otherwise or the law requires.
- Service problems. If a fault on our side means you were charged for data you didn’t receive, contact us and we will credit your balance.
- Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. How you may use the data
While your account is in good standing, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the data you receive through the Service:
- within your own software, trading systems, research, analysis and AI applications; and
- to show data, and charts or results derived from it, to users of your own application, provided this is incidental to your application and not a way to supply the data itself.
You may not, without our written permission:
- resell, sublicense, redistribute or publish the data as a data feed, API, file or dataset, or offer it to others as a product in its own right;
- use the Service to build or supply a competing market-data service; or
- remove or misrepresent freshness or completeness information in a way that could mislead others.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- share API keys outside your own organisation, or let others use your account as a way to resell access;
- get around rate limits, billing or security, or access accounts, keys or systems that aren’t yours;
- attack, overload, probe or disrupt the Service, or make requests intended to degrade it for others;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly allows it;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, including market manipulation, fraud, or breaching sanctions; or
- use the Service in a way that could expose us or our suppliers to legal liability.
10. Suspension and closing accounts
- You can stop using the Service at any time, and close your account by emailing [email protected]. Unused balance is not refunded on closure, except under section 7 or below.
- We may suspend or close your account, or revoke keys, if you materially breach these terms, if your use puts the Service or other users at risk, or if we are required to by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- If we close your account for reasons other than your breach, for example because we stop offering the Service, we will refund your unused balance. If we close it because of your breach, we will refund any unused balance after deducting amounts you owe us.
- Sections 5, 8 (restrictions), 11, 12 and 14 continue after your account ends.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, our website, software, documentation and the TickFeed name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms don’t transfer any of those rights to you, apart from the licence in section 8. Feedback you give us may be used freely to improve the Service.
12. Our liability
- What we never exclude. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you also keep your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that services are provided with reasonable care and skill.
- Trading losses. Because the Service is data only, provided for use alongside your own judgement, we are not responsible for trading or investment losses, or for decisions made by you, your software or an AI system using the data, except to the extent caused by our negligence or breach of these terms.
- If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We only supply the Service for domestic and private use; if you use it for commercial purposes, the business-customer terms below apply to that use.
- If you are a business customer, we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in that period and (b) £100.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. For material changes we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in your dashboard. If you don’t agree, you can close your account before the change takes effect and we will refund your unused balance. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.
14. General
- Suppliers. We use trusted suppliers to run the Service, including Stripe for payments and Cloudflare for network delivery.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold. Your rights won’t be reduced as a result. You may not transfer your account without our consent.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as failures of upstream data sources, networks or hosting providers.
- Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If a court finds part of them invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms: [email protected]. If you have a complaint, please contact us first. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
